The things people ask before they commission.
Straight answers about how a custom piece gets made — the process, the timeline, the materials, and the room.
How long does it take to create a custom piece?
Most commissions take four to eight weeks, from the moment you approve the design to the day the finished piece is placed in your hand. Simpler pieces can be quicker; fully diamond-set work takes longer. We would rather be right than fast.
What is the process for commissioning a custom piece?
Three steps. Envision — we talk the idea through and turn it into a drawing, then a full rendering you approve. Make — it goes to the bench, where every stone is set by hand. Place — you return and the finished piece is presented to you in person, appraised and documented. See the full process →
Can I see examples of previous custom pieces?
Yes. Our Selected Work gathers past commissions by discipline — chains, diamonds, signet and men’s rings, timepieces, and one-of-a-kind pieces. Every piece was made for one person and never repeated, so read it as a portfolio rather than a catalogue.
Do you offer lifetime servicing?
Yes. Every Envision 11:11 piece is appraised, documented, and serviced for life. Bring it in for cleaning, tightening, or re-finishing whenever it needs it.
Where are you located, and how do I book an appointment?
We are at 7 St. Thomas Street in Yorkville, Toronto, by appointment only. Start through our Begin a Commission page, or email info@envision1111.com and we’ll find a time.
How do I choose the right materials for a custom engagement ring?
Start with the metal — 18K gold for the richest colour and weight, 14K for everyday durability, platinum for a bright white that never needs re-plating. Then the stone: a natural or lab-grown diamond, or a coloured gem, chosen for cut and character rather than size alone. We walk you through every trade-off before anything is set.
What should I consider when commissioning a bespoke timepiece?
Decide whether you’re customising a watch you already own or one we source, then how far to take it — a diamond-set bezel, a custom dial, or a fully iced case. Movement and water resistance matter too. We handle watch customisation by appointment and will tell you honestly what will hold up.
Are there jewellery ateliers in Yorkville that offer personalised design?
Yes — Envision 11:11 is a private custom jewellery and timepiece atelier in Yorkville, Toronto. Every piece is designed and built from scratch for one client, by appointment, at 7 St. Thomas Street.
How do I find a reputable custom jewellery designer in Toronto?
Look for a maker who designs and sets in house rather than reselling, shows real past commissions, quotes materials transparently, and stands behind the piece with lifetime servicing. Envision 11:11 does all four, from a private atelier in Yorkville.
What do you make?
Custom fine jewellery and timepieces — hand-linked gold and diamond chains and Cuban links, bespoke diamond settings and tennis bracelets, signet and men’s rings, watch customisation, and one-of-a-kind pieces including grillz. If you can describe it, we can likely make it.
